Lydia are back with a new single from their upcoming album ‘Liquor’, due for a 13th of July release – and it’s catchy as hell. The single, named ‘Sunlight’ is upbeat, pop-py and cheerful, which is a stark contrast to the love-hate, often violent relationship portrayed in the video, which makes for melancholic, reflective viewing.
Antelman’s vocals are the same as always, distinctive, slightly apathetic, with a hint of nostalgia and sorrow. Billboard says the video has “a slightly unsettling Wes Anderson-style pastiche”, which you’ll definitely recognise if you’ve seen any of Anderson’s films.
